Outback Queensland
Jul 31, 2009 More Saving
When you are traveling on the outback roads, of Queensland, it is important that you are aware of the proper protocol. There are many roads where you are required to report to the police, when you are entering and again when you reach your destination. The reason for this is so that they are able to easily locate you, if you fail to where and when you are expected to be. These roads can be traveled by car, however it is a smoother ride while traveling in a 4WD.
It is also important, that while you are traveling, you are prepared, should anything go wrong with your transportation. Any spare parts that you may need, such as tires, should be in tow, since the roads are extremely remote, and it can take hours for a tow truck just to reach you. A mobile phone, is not the most reliable communication device, in the outback, so another great item that you should travel with is a high frequency out post radio transmitter, equipped to pick up the Royal Flying Doctor Service bases.
It is also important that you ensure you have, at least, 20 litres of water for each person you are traveling with. Another important item to bring along is food, this way if there was every a disaster you will have enough water and food to help you survive while you wait for help to arrive. You also want to make sure you are aware of the travel recommendations for the outback roads you will be traveling. It is recommended that you avoid the North trails during the rainy season, as it is know to become flooded and muddy. It is also recommended that you avoid the south west trails during the months of November to March, as they are dusty and can cause a malfunction to the electronics in your car.
To avoid making these mistakes and ensuring you are literally on the right track, it is useful to speak to the local police. They can advise you which tracks are open and if your car is suitable. It may be useful also to join the RACQ, (Royal Automobile Club of Queensland), as it offers emergency breakdown cover for $95 per year and a 24 hour telephone service. This will ensure prompt roadside assistance and they will organize a tow if the problem cant be fixed on site. The RACQ also provides lots of sets of regional maps of Queenslands and sells a wide range of travel and driving products. It provides advice on weather and road conditions.
While traveling, if you are faced with car trouble, it is important that you never leave your automobile. It is easier to spot an car then a person, while you are traveling in the outback. Also, never wandering into the wilderness, as many have been found dead, from thirst, way after their abandoned car was found.

Stress Free Tips For Headache Free Moving
Jul 14, 2009 More Saving
Its the day you have been dreading for weeks on end. Its moving day and you are completely losing your mind. There is so much that has to get done and you are spreading yourself incredibly thin. You may not even have time to hire any professional movers. So you do the next best thing. You ask your friends and family to help you move. When you use your friends and family to help you move you should take a few precautions. Remember you want these people to still like you after the move is over.
On a positive note if your friends and family are willing to help and you should be very appreciative. You are going to have to find a way to get their services without taking advantage of them and in the end be completely thankful. You can throw a housewarming party (or house leaving party) and invite all your pals who helped you during the move. A party in their honor is a great way to show appreciation. You don’t want to burn any bridges or aggravate your family and friends by completely shunning them after they have helped you move.
The best way to avoid any flare-up of tempers or unfortunate misunderstandings is to plan ahead as thoroughly as possible, while keeping things flexible enough to allow for deviations and even possible set-backs. This way, your friendships and family ties don’t become a thing of the past like your old place of residence!
Obviously you and your help will spend most of the move loading and unloading boxes to and from the truck, van, or whatever vehicle you have secured. Make sure that you pack your boxes ahead of time. If not your going to waste a lot of time packing boxes while your family and friends just wait around doing nothing (if this happens you might see that certain people will just up and leave and that’s the last thing you want). Prepare the boxes early and the move will go a lot easier for everyone.
If you take such precautions before moving day you’ll find that the relocating will go off without a hitch. Not to mention your friends and family will still love you at the end of the day. You’ll also save a bundle on a moving company, which admittedly they are fairly affordable. This move will not only signify a new beginning it will also stand for the deeper bond you have created with your family and friends.

How to Rent a Car When You Travel
Jul 10, 2009 More Saving
The initial thing I have to say about renting a vehicle is make sure it is worth it. Some cities renting a car is of no value. You might not be able to drive, and if you can drive you might pay so much for parking each place you go that it would be worth it to pay a cab that doesnt have to park.
Take Las Vegas for case in point, unless you are traveling out to the Grand Canyon or something, there is no point in renting a car in Vegas. You can take a taxicab about everywhere or walk. Plus they have the tram that will transfer you all over the strip, or the double decker busses that take you from the Strip to Down Town.
If you are going to rent a car try not to do it at an airport. This is where you will pay the most money for them. See if somebody will pick you up at the airport if you rent a car from them. Most places will and it will save you money. Some are even right across the street from the airport and half the cost.
Find out if there is public transportation available before you spend a bunch on a rental car. A lot of tourist cities will have transit available to tourists that is much cheaper than renting your own car. Bear in mind it is not just the price of the car we are looking at, but how much will you need to pay to park it each place you go.
Even if you do rent a car, you dont really want to drive it everywhere. If you have to pay 12 dollars to park somewhere, and a cab ride is only 5, you will still want to take a taxicab even though you have a car.
Check on your automobile insurance as well. Most of the time your plan will cover you in a rental car, and most credit cards underwrite rental cars as well. I never buy the insurance for car rentals I think that is one of the biggest rip offs there are. Your auto policy will also insure you in a rental car, for the most part, just check with your insurance agent.
When you travel make sure you are taking into consideration all costs when renting a hotel or a rental car so that you do not spend more than you have to. You can usually rent cars cheaper the same place you book cheap hotels.

The Do’s and Don’ts of Riding in a Limousine
Jul 8, 2009 More Saving
Just the sheer thought of riding a limousine gives you the thrill, but no one can blame you since getting limousine services for any type of occasion conjures up not just the idea of affluence and wealth, it is also a great way to travel to your destination with style.
One good thing about limousines is that they have chauffeurs, who will take you and your companion to the place you wish to arrive with style. This is a magnificent approach to start your evening the right way. However, if you don’t know the tricks of the trade in hiring a limo provider, you should read this article closely. This will answer all your questions about where you can find a limo provider, what you should expect in a limo, and how you must act when riding in a limo.
It is not difficult to look for limo services especially if you know where you should get them. There are various techniques you can perform to come across a reputable service provider. In the newspaper, you can directly set your eyes on the “services” part, where various ads about these services are shown. If you have the yellow pages at home, you can look through it as well. You may also want to consider utilizing broader means such as the internet that can give you relevant results of providers of limos in your area. The websites of the limo owners are expected to present all the data you require and may also have a segment where you can book your travel in advance.
After choosing the provider you want, you should then ask about their current rates. Usually, they have special discounts for first-time clients like you to establish a good working relationship. If you reserve their service for your wedding, there packages for this event most of the time have all the factors you desire. Even if you only go for cheap limo service, provided they can grant all your predilections, they can be the best providers you can have.
Of course, riding in a limo will shower you with many emotions that can lead you to act quite overboard. In reality, many people look at a limousine ride as a warrant or license to be abhorrent to other cars in the street. To make the most out of your ride, you should observe good manners and right conduct inside. It pays to be courteous to your chauffeur, because their ability to maneuver such a large car takes attentiveness, if you continually barge in, your trip may end up in an accident.
Limos have sunroofs that may lure you to get yourself seen by other people. If you try to do this, there is a huge possibility that the cops will arrest you. Do not attempt to do inexcusable stunts in the limo.
Champagnes may be incorporated in the package of the limousine services that you hire. You should not drink out of hand, so you can cherish the limited time you have in the limo. This will make sure that you’ll remember your limousine joyride throughout your life.

Saving Money on Car Rental
Jul 6, 2009 More Saving
There is nothing quite like getting deductions when buying or renting something, and we expect the same thing when it concerns a renting a car, but there are some guidelines for this, or else you would never avail of the best deals.
Your first job is to find at least 4 car rental companies and note down their contact details, and you could use the web, for helping you with the search, which makes it very easy and fast. Before you finalize with any company ensure that you have searched thoroughly enough, as you would not like to miss out on a company which is offering the best price, simply because you did not spend enough time or effort in your searches.
It is always a good idea to check out if the rental agency is running any special deals at the time you phone as you could save yourself quite a few dollars. More often than not, the renting a car company would have a business tie-up with a hotel or airline business, which is something worth checking as this aspect could further lower your rental prices.
The worst hassle that you can expect is the pick up and the car drop-off, so make sure that you discuss these issues in advance with the company, so that you are saved of any inconvenience later on. Choosing the type of vehicle should really be done carefully and wisely since using a large family vehicle even though there are only two of you will only cost you a lot of money.
Most renting a car companies are known for adding last-minute extra prices, just when you are thinking that you have struck a good deal, and one such extra cost is the fee that you pay for reserving a vehicle of your choice. Renting a car should not be very costly, and here are some suggestions, which can help you keep your expenditures low. Free upgrade offers are from time to time be made available by some rental agencies so paying them a visit and looking for those offers first thing in the morning as soon as you have time is indeed very beneficial. One good thing about first thing arrival at the renting a car office is that there may be some event wherein there is a shortage of lower grade cars therefore you are more likely to be given a free of charge bigger vehicle. Often considerable deductions are available online as more companies compete there so it may be worth checking there first. You could simply provide the company with the budget you have and ask them to give the best rental within that money, and this rather easy to do.
Remember to fill the fuel fuel tank when returning the car otherwise you would have to shell out more than fuel station rates, if you give them the responsibility of filling up. Great discounts on rentals are a must-have for you so you better look out for those especially those with bundles such as fly-drive-stay or fly-drive since you will be less worried about details concerning a hotel or an airline for they are already included. Any reputed travel agent would be able to guide you in such matters.
Accumulated deductions by those who fly regularly can be used since most car rental companies acknowledge those points and use them to compensate the cost. You have to see to it whether this scheme is really beneficial since you will have to think about the time left on your discount rate. Bear in mind that for you to get a hold of those deductions you better not be shy in asking for them since they will not be given to you if you don’t say so.
