1985 Ford Bronco Ii Xlt Review

“The ugly duckling. It may be rusty, but it runs better than most newer cars” What things have gone wrong with the car? Headliner falling down.

Driver seat a little twisted and ripped.

Engine valve noise, probably from driving 388,000 KMs.

Fenders and rear quarters rusted as well as other rust spots and peeling paint.

Speakers blown, but still work OK.

Valve cover leak and minor power steering hose leak.

General comments? Bought the truck for $500 and drove it 143 KMs home, and was surprised at how well it was running, and how well it rode for being a rusted cheap Bronco II.

The body is ugly brown on tan with a shade of rust, but still solid. Most of it is just surface rust.

4X4 works great, the manual transmission shifts good, and the clutch seems to be fine.

Heat works amazingly well, and surprisingly so does the A/C.

Handles bumps really well, and you do feel them, but you feel them in most true 44 offroad vehicles.

Carburated engine starts up quick, like as soon as the key hits the start position, it’s running, and very quiet and smooth, you can barely hear or feel the engine running except for the minor valve tick.

I definitely need to put in a tachometer in it so I know it’s running, because it’s so quiet that every time you get to a stop sign or traffic lights and push the clutch in, everything is quiet and it seems like the engine stalled, but it’s still running quiet and smooth.

I am very happy with this vehicle so far, even though it has 388,000 KMs. I would have no problem fixing up the body a little bit to get rid of most of the rust, and if I ever had to replace the engine or transmission, I would, but the way it seems right now, I almost think it would last another 300,000 KMs.

Race Car Beds In Your Child’s Room

Does your husband or boyfriend have a fondness for NASCAR? How about getting your younger son involved in this sport too. After all boys love to copy their dads, with race car beds you can complete a new look in that child’s room and they will love it.

Of course of all the ages it will be the easiest to find race car beds for younger boys. But you can always improvise with other ideas for older boys who are feeling they would love to have a race themed room.

If it’s a son and dad project, let your husband and son figure out the color scheme. Pick up some extra paint and do something cool with the walls to incorporate the colors of the driver they’ve picked. Even pictures of famous drivers or of cars can be placed up on the walls to help the theme out more.

Race car beds can use specially designed sheets that are also themed in the same manner. Or you can buy plain sheets and add on some racing strips to them. If your young boy loves Cars the movie they even have Lightning McQueen race car beds you can buy.

Adding something like an area rug to the room can will give them a softer place to play at. Plus an area rug can keep certain parts of the floor a bit cleaner. Perhaps if your son has a big hand in the decoration they may even have more motivation to keep the room cleaner.

Buy some pictures of fancy cars and place them on the walls. You can paint a wall a color that complements either the bed or the pictures, or just paint some trim around the picture.

You can even add in a rug or carpet that looks like it has a road on it. Paint the other walls to go along with the theme that you’re using. Even painting some of the wall so that it looks like the inside of a garage.

Don’t forget that you should compare several different places, especially if you’re looking for a specific driver or type of car. Let your child decide on the driver if you’re going with that type of theme. Or simple just do a car theme in the room instead. Placing up different pictures or stencil the walls to add more cars. With a kids room you may even want to consider stickers they can easily place on the wall and take off.

NASCAR Weekly Update: Kahne Triumphs

Kasey Kahne’s case for capturing the Sprint Cup increased vastly after he finished first in a big race on Sunday in Georgia.

Beforehand, Kahne stood at eleventh for the season in the chase for the cup, but this win jumped him five spots, all the way into sixth place. With the playoff consisting of twelve racers and merely one race left until the positions are determined, Kahne’s prospects of making the playoffs aim markedly more likely than they previously did.

During the race, it seemed like it was Kevin Harvick’s event to win Harvick, who came up triumphant at the Nationwide race the previous night, was looking great until Clint Bowyer came into trouble with just 15 laps remaining. Bowyer, Harvick’s teammate, ruined his chances for winning the event, as Kahne took advantage of the caution and won by about 2 seconds.

Harvick, who ended in 2nd overall, just missed his first win during the ‘09 race season. ending up in third place was Juan Pablo Montoya, who is currently seeking out his 1st playoff berth and looks like he may be able to pull it off.

Kahne was with the race all in all. Happy with the auto, he credited his magnificence in the race to the car’s performance - and naturally, a bit of help regarding Kevin Harvick’s troubles.

How You Can Drift A Car?

Step 1 Set a plastic rubbish can up in the center of an blank parking lot. You want enough room to approach, circle the can in a float and then pull out of the turn. Make confident there won’t be any random shoppers appearing and wanting to leave their cars there.

Step 5 Repeat Steps 3 and 4, adjusting your timing for engaging the parking brake and releasing it and learning just how much gas to give your car to control the speed of the drift. When you are comfortable with your ability, repeat Steps 3 and 4 again, only begin to increase your speed each time until you can comfortably handle a drift at 45 mph.
