There are several problems stemming from the use of fossil fuels and great heat generating equipment which provides electricity. The heat generating from this power making equipment in larger populated areas is literally melting the atmospheric make-up which protects the land we live on from vicious storms. The trouble with fossil fuels is like a fossil will be erased from existence shortly. The only thing to do as a whole population is to begin using green energy solutions immediately.
Water is the most important basic of living creatures. Without water nothing will live, including trees, animals, plants, et cetera. That is why it is not a wise choice to use water for automobiles or heat unless it is the water that is cleaned from the ocean. If the water were taken out of the ocean and heated to a boiling point for a certain amount of time the water will be considered distilled, and very drinkable, which can be used to flush out all the contaminations already caused by pollution, in current fresh water supplies.
Heating is one of the leading causes of deadly toxic pollution being released into the air. The exhaust from forced air furnaces that burn kerosene, oil, or diesel fuels release a high amount of carbon which is what adds fuel to the global warming fire. One green energy solution to eco friendly heating is by using the sun. The sun can provide enough heat all year around to heat any size building.
Alas, the electricity subject. Electricity is the cause of most of the waste products that sit in landfill for a long period of time. The newest member to the team of green energy solutions is the zero point energy generators. This generator is safe, can work in under any weather conditions, and can generate as much power as the electric company. This mechanism is also very affordable.
More electricity green energy solutions can happen by installing a wind mill. Wind mills are already in use in the western United States, and are quite helpful to farms. Then all that is needed is a lot of wind, in which we get more wind now than ever.
Plastic and rubber tires are the most difficult products to recycle. The tires are difficult because although rubber can be melted down, there are steel belts inside the layers of rubber that will not form a new rubber substance without problems. The crucial parts to recycle are plastic and rubber, whatever the case do not burn these two substances.
Bug and weed killer are not parts of a green energy solution. The bugs and weeds are all a part of our natural habitat, and are needed to complete the food chain. Pulling weeds is an excellent allowance incentive for kids, and does not harm the harvested vegetable. Dandelions can be made into a tasty adult beverage if mixed correctly.
Green energy solutions are numerous and need applied right now to stop global warming from gaining anymore strength. Global warming has already gained the strength to begin melting glaciers. Think about that.

If you follow these reminders accordingly, you are no longer using up any valuable natural resources in the world. Buying some secondhand products is also recommended as this is a good way to save our natural resources.
Apart from reusing our things, we can also consider recycle them. There are plenty of cities provide free recycling service and you should treasure such opportunity. Other than that, some organizations collect products that can be recycled as a way to raise money.
Bins that are used to collect these products are always seen. All you need to do is putting your papers, such as newspapers, magazines and even boxes inside instead of throwing them away. This greatly help organizations to raise money.

Top 10 Way to Use Old Sweaters

Old sweaters provide a fantastic material for crafting and encourage the green principles of reuse, repurpose, recycle. Kids will love participating in these crafts. Felt- Sweaters that are at least 20% wool can be felted in your washing machine. 100% wool sweaters will give a sturdier felt for different crafts. Make sure the sweater has not been treated to make it washable, such as superwash, as these will not felt. Throw the sweater into a zippered delicates bag and wash on high heat. Dry on high heat, cleaning the lint trap frequently. Some sweaters require more than one wash and dry to fully felt. The sweater will eventually shrink dramatically and will be ready to cut apart!
Yarn- If you knit, crochet or even weave, salvage the yarn from an old sweater to use in a new project. Find a seam in the sweater and carefully snip one of the seam stitches with a pair of very sharp scissors. Use a blunt needle to lift out the seam stitches, snipping the seam yarn for each. For a knit sweater, you want to unravel the yarn from the cast off edge, generally at the top of the sweater since sweaters are made from the bottom up. Start ripping from the last cast off stitch and carefully wind the yarn into a ball as you go. You should end up with four or more balls of yarn from the different sweater pieces.
Potholders- Stitch several layers of the old sweater together and add binding or trim around the edges to create potholders. You can also use thick quilt batting to fill the inside of your upcycled sweater potholder.

Some sweaters may be too thick for the sewing machine, so you will have to pin and hand-sew pieces together with right sides facing and ” inch seam allowance. If seams do not lay flat after steam-ironing, hand-stitch seams to back of the blanket. Thinner sweaters can be sewn with the sewing machine and can be given a fabric backing.

Plastic Bag Holder- Have a dog you need to clean up after on walks? Use the sleeve of an older sweater to create a handy plastic bag holder to hang from a door. The stretchy wrist end is perfect for the bottom and you dont even need to stitch it closed. Just cut the shoulder seam and sew a neater edge. You can add embellishments such as ric-rac at the edges or cut out Dog Walk in fabric letters and appliqu to the sweater sleeve. Loop a piece of elastic and sew to the top to hang from a door.
Toys- Whether felted or not, old sweaters are a great material for making toys or stuffed animals. Create a puppet with the sleeve of a sweater. Hem the cut edge to prevent fraying. To make the head of the puppet, you can simply sew the cuff together straight across or trim a curved line and sew. For a puppet with hair, gather a few inches of the cuff and weave the thread back and forth. Pull tight and secure the thread. Cut off some of the gathered cuff to leave fuzzy hair.

Regardless of where you live and what you eat, you are being affected by our planets contamination. Our rivers and oceans are polluted with pesticides and fertilizers. Biohazardous material leaches into our soil and air. Livestock feed is enhanced with growth hormones and antibiotics that filter down to our food.
We are all responsible for this situation. Our belief that some one else will take care of the problem has made us indifferent. But there are many ways to improve our environment, and each one of us has a responsibility to do all that we can. According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), we produce 4.6 pounds of waste per person, per day. We all like new and improved things. Try thinking “reuse and recycle” as being better than “new and hyped up” repetitive buying. Reducing the amount of new things that we use, by reusing old items for their intended purposes, is a good way to make a improvement on our impact on this planet. We can also reuse old items for new and creative purposes. Recycling is a way of preventing the depletion of our natural resources and preventing the creation of toxic waste created by the manufacturing process. When your things have outlived their usefulness to you, try donating them. You’ll be cleaning out your clutter and putting less waste into landfills and dumps.
Walking more and driving less is good for your waisteline and for our planet. It also saves money. Vehicle and industrial exhaust are major contributors to global warming. Our dependence on foreign oil has become an economic and security risk. Drilling and mining is polluting Mother Earth and us. We do have alternatives.
Ground, air, and water pollution is a byproduct of manufacturing, drilling, and mining. We urgently need enforcement of current restrictions and the installation of new technologies to clean up this contamination. Our jobs should not make us sick.
Creating a greener lifestyle can be simple. Start with the small things. Recycle your soda cans and water bottles, or carry a reusable mug to the coffee shop. Save money by cleaning with vinegar and baking soda. Walk or ride a bicycle to the corner grocery. Simply by eating or wearing organic products, you can protect the earth from pesticides and fertilizers. The planet our children inherit should be better than the one we we born into.
If we all live wisely and get involved by reducing, reusing, and recycling, our Mother Earth will begin to heal, and so will we. Think green and incorporate the three R’s into your lives.

Could a new effort to fight global warming save money and create jobs at the same time? NOW looks at a city-wide plan in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to make all its buildings more energy efficient. Up to 80 percent of emissions in many urban cities comes from buildings. Cambridge hopes that this unprecedented effort to green its buildings will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10 percent in just five years, the equivalent of taking 33,000 cars off the road. If every major city in America took the same approach, it would have a significant impact on the carbon footprint of the United States —and it would generate tens of millions of new “green” jobs.
The Cambridge Energy Alliance, a nonprofit group, will help clients cut their energy use 15-30 percent, which translates into a lower utility bill. The Alliance will then help clients secure loans to pay for the building retrofits, loans designed to pay themselves off by the savings on those utility bills. Retrofitting thousands of buildings could also create a new green job market in Cambridge. It’s a bold new experiment, but the Alliance hopes to become a national model that puts green thinking on display, as well as more green in people’s pockets. Will this entrepreneurial effort bring new converts to the environmental movement?
