When you are purchasing your Seattle Auto Insurance policy it is important that you understand that there are a number of different choices that you have on the type of coverage that you can have. While there is a standard auto insurance policy, many drivers opt to add extra coverage for their protection.
Each insurance provider will have their own detailed coverage options. Some of the types of coverage that can be added to the standard policy include emergency roadside insurance, auto glass insurance, and tow truck insurance.
Washington state law does not mandate that you have the above types of coverage on your policy. But if you find yourself in a situation where you could use their coverage you will wish you had added them to your policy at a minimal cost rather than pay the large fee to pay for the emergency yourself.
Many drivers have had the terrible experience of having their car vandalized and one of their windows broken. It can cost over $500 to replace some windows. Depending on the amount of deductible that you have on your policy this may leave you responsible for the total cost of replacement.
Calculate the cost of adding any of these optional types of coverage to your policy’s premium before you actually add them. If you find that adding auto glass insurance is going to cost you $600 more a year in premiums then you are probably going to be better off to chose to pay for your window replacement yourself.
You may decide that you want to add daily rental insurance coverage to your auto insurance policy. Daily rental insurance will pay for a rental car if your primary car is totaled as a result of an accident.
Having this coverage can take away the worry of how you will get to work if you can’t use your vehicle. However this coverage may be included in your comprehensive or collision coverage so make sure and ask your insurance agent before adding this to your policy.
