Do you think you can be Rich?
Feb 28, 2009 Save Money
Whether you call it ‘rich’ or financially secure, if you want to live your life in comfort without having to worry about money, you need to be rich. It is the wealth of money you have that will make you financially secure.
Can you be rich? Most likely you can, but there are many different deciding factors. First, what does it mean to be rich to you? I’m not talking about being rich with friends, love, caring, or any other feelings. I mean rich as in wealthy. How much money makes you rich?
As a child, if you were ever to receive $50 at once, you probably thought it was a fortune. Now, if you were handed $15,000 you were look at it as a lot of money, and yet that most people with full time job make and spend more than that in a whole year.
You might think of rich as someone who has a nice new car, a big beautiful house, and is able to retire comfortably at age 65 and take frequent vacations. Another person might think you have to have $1,000,000 in order to be rich. You could live like this or even save up $1,000,000 over time.
First, how old are you? If you are 20 years old, you could start saving $5,000 a year in an IRA account, earn a conservative 8% annual return in the stock market, and in 40 years have over $1.3 million. If you are 20 and want to have that same amount but retire at 45 years old, several things need to change. Either you need to save more, get a higher return, or both if you can.
Another deciding factor is how much money you make and how much of it can you save. If you make over $100,000 a year that’s great, but if you can only afford to save $500 a year, your salary does you no good. You have to cut your expenses so that you can save more. If you make $40,000 a year and are able to save $5,000, you are actually much better off then the other guy.
Do you think you could never be rich? If you can’t save money, then you won’t ever be rich. If you take the time to budget and learn how to spend less, you can begin to save money and build wealth.
Another factor is what you do with that money. If you save $5,000 a year for 40 years and keep it in a jar on your dresser, you will have $200,000. That’s a lot a lot of money, but it doesn’t make you wealthy and it’s a nothing compared to $1.3 million.
You have to invest your money. As long as you are 20 or more years away from retirement, you must invest in stocks. Bonds just won’t earn you the same kind of return. At best, with bonds you can beat inflation, but you really can’t expect much more.
If you really want to become rich, you have to put in the time and effort. Sure, a lot has to do with your age and how much you make, but you can work to make more money if necessary. With a proper plan and set goals, you can become rich.

How to Avoid Car Accident
Feb 28, 2009 More Saving
Life is incredibly volatile; we never know what might happen next. Car accidents are really common at the present time due to so many reasons. The serious accidents occur because of over-speeding and overtaking. Nonetheless, there are other aspects such as bad road conditions, misty and rainy weather etc. There are also loads of accidents for the reason that drivers do not pursue the traffic system and rules. It is our ethical job to stand by the traffic laws and save ourselves and others from any mishap. Below are some of the guidelines that must be followed to keep away from car accidents.
A driver must pick the right and centre lane for driving; it is crucial when you have to change lanes speedily in any case. Left lane must always be avoided; statistics demonstrate that mainly highway accidents take place in left lane. “Fast-lane” should be avoided to remain unnoticeable from the highway patrol.
Scanning the area ahead of any car you are behind at is always advisable. You could clearly foresee any danger well before time and this would give you plenty of time to react in case the car ahead applies the sudden brakes.
Side mirrors and rear view mirrors are the eyes of your motor vehicle. If you have fixed them right; the probability is that you will never encounter an accident. On the other hand, you should not utterly rely on them and should look straight into the lanes beside you. Be cautious of the blind spots; the spots not in range of your mirrors.
Car driving is not at all a lethargic activity; you must be vastly attentive and dynamic when driving. One hand at 12 o’ clock position is not recommended in any case. The 9 and 3 o’ clock location of the hand is highly suggested as it gives you paramount control over the vehicle.
Your car seat must be close to the steering wheel to offer you enhanced power over it. This position is suggested as you get upper limit soothe of back and arms. Your back and arms do not get weary in this position and you also have utmost time for any subtle manoeuvre.
Appearances are frequently deceiving but not in case if you find a car smashed or filthy. These are caution signs of negligent drivers. When you find drivers wandering in the lane; watch out from them as they might be drunk or cell phone-preoccupied.
Night time driving is very dangerous though some people prefer it because the roads are not crowded. In fact night time driving is most dangerous than the driving at any time of the day. Thinking that there will be no much traffic, many teens have fun with joyriding. There are chances you could encounter a drunken person driving at night; the person definitely will have blurry vision and not completely in senses.
Put into effect self-control, self-preservation and self-defence is what every driver must bear in mind while driving. Never put your eyes off the road for a single moment. Your slight childish mistake can be the repent of your life. The above mentioned instructions are in no way a sure fire to shun accidents but following them does give you highest safety and defence.

Why I Drive A Beater
Feb 28, 2009 More Saving
As a teen, I always wondered what sort of car I would wind up with. I definitely did not predict that I would be driving around an early 90s Honda with over two hundred thousand miles on it. There is no other way to look at it. I drive a beater.
Yes, I certainly have a beater. It is fairly reliable, working most of the time, but issues to crop up from time to time. I seem to loose coolant hoses quite a bit, which can be irritating. I’ve had to replace an alternator. The car as a whole leaks, shakes, and does not generally inspire much confidence.
If this is the case, why I am so glad to own this car? The reason can be summed up in a word: cheap. This car gets me around everywhere I need for next to nothing. This car gets me around wherever I need to go. It has even survived a couple long distance road trips. In short, it does everything I need in a car.
Yes, my car does everything it needs, at a very low cost to me. I paid $1500 in cash for the car back when I was 16, and have been driving it for 6 years now. Even with repairs, thats just a couple hundred a year for all my transportation needs.
That’s not the whole picture, of course. I also have to pay insurance, which is also very cheap. I do not have to pay for comprehensive, since the car is so cheap. My premiums are very low, saving me even more money with time.
Compare this to a new car. A newer car would cost me in payments, higher insurance, and more. While I would probably spend less in repairs, I still save a lot of money over time by keeping the clunker.
Of course, this isn’t going to work for everyone. I even wish for a better car at times, but when I think how much freedom I have in my finances because of the clunker, I smile a bit to myself and continue driving. Think about it, and you might just free up a lot of cash each month.

Don’t Overpay Purchasing Business Checks - Save 50% Online!
Feb 27, 2009 Save Money
At a certain point in time you’ll run low on your bank check supply. You can order checks online direct from the bank and bypass the manufacturer and cut out the middleman.
Banking institutions need to make a profit and markup the price of checks they buy from a check manufacturer. When you order checks from the internet direct from the manufacturer you are buying at wholesale prices. You’ll not only save money but are able to order from your own computer saving gas, time and taxes.
Check designs and categories cover a broad range of topics. Unique artistic designs are categorized into a category making for many choices in every category.
When you order direct from the manufacturer you will save about 50%. Quality is just as good as that you’ll find in any bank since the source is practically equal. The delivery is secure and fast. Security standards comply to all bank strict conventions.
Checkbook covers, matching address labels and contact cards as well as various check formats are offered as well. Side tear, top stub, 3 to a page formats and many other formats are available. Note that when you write your checks that your drafts are covered. Check registers in simple to read and record formats make that possible.
When anyone accepts a check and deposits it in their account is called a payee. If the payee is unsure of the funds, often they will take it to the branch bank it is drawn in and cash the check at that location.
When there are not sufficient funds to cover the full amount of checks the check will not clear. This bounced check is bad news from a variety of perspectives.
Banks make a bonus when they get bounced checks. Their over the top service charges that are imposed make one take quick notice. Keeping accurate records to avoid service charges is essential.

Feb 27, 2009 More Saving
For regular travellers a flight from Manchester and car parking go hand in hand and they will know all the best parking options and where to get the best prices and who has the best service. They don’t pay more than they need to for their parking and why should you.
By pre-booking your car parking before you arrive at Manchester Airport you will usually get the best rates and have peace of mind knowing that even if the car park is full you will still get in.
Choosing the most suitable car park could depend on which one is nearest to you depending in what direction you approach Manchester Airport from and also which one has availability. Prices tend not to vary a lot between the car parks usually just by a pound or so per day.
If you are more concerned with comfort and not the cost there is an excellent chauffeur service such as Meteor which offers a meet and greet service for you and your party and you don’t have to wait on the last person to come out with their luggage. There is no waiting and you get to travel in a bit of style and you are taken straight to your car.
You can treat your car whilst you are away as most of the car parks can arrange to have your car washed or even a full valet. If some instances you can have your car fully serviced whilst you are away. Simply ask about the services before you arrive as you may have to book in advance.
Manchester Airport also has parking facilities next to the airport terminal buildings. The prices tend to be higher but do offer the convenience of being near the airport. The airport car parks are secure and your car should be perfectly safe. It is advisable to pre-book before you arrive to make sure the car park is not full.
Generally you will be asked to leave your car keys so that they can move your car out of the way whilst you are away and have it ready for you upon your return. If you are worried about leaving your house keys don’t, simply give them your car key.
Planning ahead will enable you to get the best prices and plan the best route to the car park of your choice. Don’t forget to allow sufficient time to get to the car park and to allow enough time for the shuttle bus to take you to Manchester airport in time for your flight. If you are going to get your car a valet get it booked in advance as well.

Ski Holidays -Avoid A Crash With Proper Tyre Checks.
Feb 26, 2009 More Saving
Are you preparing to go on a skiing holiday, and thinking about hiring a car? If the skiing holiday is going to be somewhere in Europe then the car should have winter tyres fitted on them. Even if the holiday is going to be spent in UK, ensure that the car that is rented is fitted with winter tyres.
Tyre manufacturers have upgraded their methods of making winter tyres. Now, the winter tyres that are sold have softer rubber used in them. This allows the tyre to get a wider and firmer grip on the road surface. When cars were mostly rear wheel driven most people thought that fitting winter tyres on the rear wheels was enough to provide the required traction on icy and snow covered roads. Also, now some people believe that front wheel driven cars only need winter tyres on the front wheels. Both these beliefs are wrong!
All four tyres of the car must have winter tyres on them. Also, the tread, size, and condition of the winter tyres should be the same. As much as traction is required on wet and slippery roads, so is the ability to apply the brakes. When brakes are applied, all the four wheels are forced to stop, and if one or two tyres are different then the car can go out of control. The reason is that the brake pressure will not be even.
Temperatures in winter can lower suddenly and the weather can be very random. So, nobody wants to get trapped on the road with defective tyres. Remember, clearing snow off the road takes time and all the roads do not get cleared of snow and ice at once. So why take a risk? Just being cautious on the outset can save a lot of headaches later on. More incidents occur in winters than in summers, so being careful always helps.
Tell the car hire company where you plan to spend your skiing holiday and also be firm that the car they are going to give you is fitted with winter tyres. When accepting the car, check that all the tyres are winter tyres and are in the same condition. If you are not sure of the tyres, it is better to take the car to a tyre shop and get their suggestions. Now what some people tend to forget is the spare tyre. Check that as well, and make sure it is also a winter tyre.
Ask any tyre shop mechanic about the tyre pressure that is required for the tyres, and make sure that the right tyre pressure is maintained. Check the tyres pressure often as the higher you go the more rarefied the air gets. Winter tyres look slightly flatter than summer tyres, and this is due to their having a wider traction and not because they are underinflated.
Many ski resorts are on subsidiaries of the main roads, and the chances of having to drive on snow covered and ice topped roads is very high. With the correct tyres there will be no issues during driving on these road surfaces, and odds of the car going out of control or skidding will be removed.
Other than the tyres, it is also important to ensure that the car’s brakes are in perfect condition. A slight tap on slippery surfaces with faulty brakes can cause the car to go out of control. So, do check the brakes. When driving on icy or snow covered roads, use the gear to slow down and maintain traction. Use the brakes as little as possible.

Buying Car Insurance
Feb 25, 2009 More Saving
It is against the law to drive any kind of vehicle without insurance. If you are involved in an accident, having no insurance can cause a lot of headache and money, and get you into trouble. If you don’t have insurance, you’ll have to pay for all damages you caused from your own money, including any damages from the other car.
You might not like the price tag on car insurance, but if you get into an accident, your insurance will pay for itself. Whether you think you’ll never get into an accident or not, you need insurance. That is why it is called insurance. You need to insure that you won’t go into debt because of a small fender bender or a full on crash.
Once you are ready to get car insurance, don’t just buy from the first company you find. Your goal in finding insurance will be more than just looking for what is cheap. You also need to get quality coverage. The price and what you’ll need will depend on your age, sex, driving history, type of car, year of car, etc.
When shopping for car insurance, think about what benefits you want. Are you looking for the cheapest insurance possible, or do you want good coverage and good customer service. Don’t fall prey to funny commercials.
If you want free car insurance quotes, go to the link below. You must research each company before purchase and quotes will help you out a lot.
Ultimately, you probably won’t be going with the cheapest insurance. They almost always have inferior coverage. Over time, the more expensive companies may end up costing about the same as long as you maintain a good driving record. They usually offer incentives for good driving and other discounts.
If you don’t get into accidents, your insurance will go down, especially with a quality insurance company. The fewer accidents you are involved in, the more your insurance provider will trust that you won’t cost them a lot of money.
If you are a bad driver and get into accidents often, you could decide that the cheap insurance will work better, but in either case, bad driving will cause your rates to increase. Learn safe driving and keep everyone on the roads safe!
