I was wrong to think I could not sell my van on stumblehere. It sold quickly and painlessly.

I posted my ad on ebay and somebody contacted me saying they we using stumblehere.com with great success.

I did not want to listen to some sales speach about how stumblehere was a place to sell my stuff. The last thing I wanted to do was post more ads.

I finally listened to he had to say. He told me he was calling for a website that I hadn’t heard of before. He told me that this classified ad website was unlike craigslist in that they do something called syndication. Meaning that what they do is they send out my posting that I put together on their site to many others.

So I went to the stumblehere.com website and posted a classified ad. I then upgraded it to make it a featured ad on their site and added ad syndication. I wanted to get my ad on as many websites as possible.

Stumblehere will be my classified site for life. I sold my vehicle and am excited it went soo smoothly. I did not think it would work, but it did.

Adding Hydronic Radiant Heat to Your Existing Home

If you are like me, you don’t enjoy having cold feet all winter. That is exactly how our family felt after a couple years in our home with cold floors. It was time to upgrade our heating system.

I looked into solar water heating, but our northern climate doesn’t get much sun in the winter. I researched electric floor radiant heating and decided it wasn’t cost effective for me. Overall, it was looking like DIY hydronic radiant floor heating with an outdoor wood boiler would be the way I wanted to go.

The first thing I needed to do was find how much I would pay for the radiant heat supplies. I made up a plan of my diy installation and took the list down to the nearest local hardware and home improvement center. Everything looked like it was achievable, so I order the materials.

I had thought about placing my hydronic heating inside the house, on top of the underlay. This would require me to remove all the existing floor covering and replace it. It would also add up to 2″ to the floor, and this just wasn’t acceptable. This method also sounded like way more work.

The second way would be to place tubing underneath the floor from the bottom. I didn’t like the idea of moving around in the crawl space for hours, but it seemed like the least amount of work. it would require drilling holes in the floor joists as well as hanging tubing with clips.

The utility and laundry room was the best location for the pump and holding tank. I brought the line from the boiler through the floor here. The boiler hot water line and return line had to have extra insulation on them and we buried them eight feet deep to keep everything from freezing up.

Not only do we save a lot of money, but our floors are really warm now. Our wood burning boiler system has a propane backup in case we aren’t home, so we don’t have to worry about leaving the system unattended. For the rest of the time, I don’t mid adding wood once a day.
